Seasons shift, time flows, technology advances, and generations grow older — yet the fundamental structure and science of human skin remain unchanged. Across centuries, continents, and climates, the skin’s nature is constant. Here are a few drops of skin wisdom, distilled from ancient Ayurvedic texts — principles that are universal - for everyone, everywhere, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
-
"दिनेदिनेक्रियाणां योगः आरोग्यकरणः स्मृतः।"
A good daily routine prevents disease.
Consistency in self-care—cleansing, oiling, sleep, nourishment—is a
key to long-term skin health and wellbeing. -
अभ्यङ्गमाचरेन्नित्यंस जराश्रमवातहृत्।दृष्टिप्रसादपुष्ट्यायुःस्वप्नसुखत्वक्दृढत्वकरः।
Oiling generates love and nourishment.
Daily self-massage with oil calms the nervous system, deeply
hydrates the skin, and invites inner peace. It softens dryness,
soothes irritation, and infuses vitality. -
आहारशुद्धिः इन्द्रियशुद्धिः
Purity of food leads to purity of the senses.
Fresh, seasonal, and sattvic (pure) foods keep the skin radiant and
the body light and balanced. -
समदोषः समाग्निश्च समधातुमलक्रियः।प्रसन्नात्मेन्द्रियमनाः स्वास्थ्यं इत्यभिधीयते॥
One who has balanced doshas (bodily humors), balanced agni (digestive
fire), and balanced functioning of the tissues and waste elimination and who
has a joyful mind, senses, and soul, is said to possess health.
Health is the equilibrium of doshas (vata, pitta, kapha), digestive fire (agni),
tissues (dhatus), excretions (malas), and a contented state of soul, senses,
and mind. -
"निद्रायाः सुखदं शान्तिम्, शारीरिकं च सर्वदा।सम्यग्वृद्धिं च जीवनं, शान्तया च समुत्थितम्।"
Balanced sleep brings happiness and life.
Sleep is sacred. Proper rest repairs tissues, balances hormones,
and renews the skin overnight. -
यथा पिण्डेतथा ब्रह्माण्डे
As is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.
Your skin is a mirror of your inner world—body, mind, and spirit.
Nurture the whole being for inner radiance to shine through.
